Gold-turned-black jewelry? Not for me

Gold filled is the best kind of imitation gold there is.

That's because the layer of gold in "gold filled" pieces are thicker than "gold plated" ones.

What can you expect in terms of lifespan from gold filled stuff?

First, do your part.

  • The number one issue is: water. Do NOT shower with your jewelry. It's a pain to remove necklaces or bracelets before dipping, but if you want to retain that bright, vibrant color we're so proud our pieces have, do just that.
  • Leaving them out in the open for months on end will affect the color. Put them in your box!
  • Sterling silver will tarnish eventually. Silver polish is your solution.

Finesse I's policy is: only sell what's tried and tested. We won't offer any low quality gold filled that fades fast.

If you watch your stuff, they should stay as gold and gorgeous as you purchased them for longer than a full year. How's that for value for money?
